You don't have to make lists like I do, or keep a journal, or "process" every round you play with a reader or a listener, or by yourself. What we must agree on (and golf is not unique in this by any means) is the fact that incorporating the game into our lives makes our lives richer - no matter what score we post or how many bogeys we shoot. That's the "forest." The "trees" are the countless rounds we play, balls we lose, shots we butcher, courses we visit, partners we play with, bodies of water we step in (on purpose or otherwise), scorecards we turn in or throw away, and beverages we buy from the drink cart person. While you're at it, keep my old friend Cal Geiger's helpful phrase in mind: "Rest where you are."
